Ahh, night time. There was something about the way the hidden becomes seen, the supernatural having no bounds as they obtain the freedom to roam that was deprived of them during broad daylight. A wonderful example would be the stars. As far as the eye could see, thousands of blinking lights dotted the velvet sky, where they rightfully belong, and not outshone by the world's single sun. The stars were beautifully entrancing, and Tom, a vampire who appreciated God's work, had stopped running in the forest to observe the phenomenon that was easily overlooked by humans.
It was glorious.
Tom stretched, his limbs lithe as if he was really nineteen years old, and not older than the first world war- although, by happenstance, that was true. In all his travels, he had not even thought about going to Forks, and now was the only time that he did. So far, the town has not disappointed him. Unless, of course, you would count how everyone knows everyone; it was definitely a lot harder to hunt here. So he did it in the outskirts of a nondescript village two towns over, just to avoid any suspicion. The presence of other vampires in the area- the Cullens, Tom reckoned- didn't keep him at ease. They were a bit odd, not to mention the fact that instead of red, their eyes shone gold.
Other vampires seemed to be avoiding the area as well. It might have something to do with the smell near the La Push reservation, which repelled Tom as well. He had not bothered figure out what was making that stench, though it reminds him vaguely of dogs. But surely dogs wouldn't smell that bad.
Without concern for his clothes, Tom sat down on a thick tree root that provided enough space for a being like him to sit in. He leaned back on the tree's trunk, feeling already its sharp bark against the fabric of his white shirt, but he paid it no mind. He was a vampire; his skin was made of marble. Or granite. Or, er... whatever rock you prefer. His jeans were fairing very well compared to his shirt. Tom was running barefoot, too, just because he can, and honestly, he's not up to brushing shoes when he got home.
And so, there he was, six feet under the stars.

Sian sighed to herself as she tried to pull most of her curly red hair into a ponytail. What had started as a tight pony tail, soon became a loose messy pony tail with loose strands of hair around her face and cheeks. She had decided to leave it as it was and head out for the night.
Night time had always been her favorite time of the day, even when she was a human. Everybody she knew called her a night owl, as she would often be very groggy and sleep through out the day. The night time always seemed to come alive when everybody was asleep, which was why she loved it.
Walking around Forks, Sian kind of smiled to herself. This was her second time here, and yet she and her father had managed to slip in and act like humans. Everybody knew everybody in Forks, thats why she liked it. You had to be careful in case if you didn't want to get caught. It kind of kept you on your toes.
Tucking some of the annoying loose strands behind her ear, Sian shoved her hands into the pockets of her denim jeans. Tonight she wasn't out to feed, mainly cause if she ate human blood she might have gotten into trouble with her father. Her and her father were going on a 'diet', drinking animal blood, but Sian hated it and always had horrible self control. So she would eat both, thus kind of causing her eyes to just be black. No, she was out just for a walk really. She had nothing else to do.
Making her way up the mountain range, Sian would pause occasionally just to take in the sights she ignored when she was human.

Pure, unadulterated beauty was what Tom was witnessing that moment, he decided. A peek into the eyes of God. The thought of that made the vampire close his eyes and wish he was dead, just so he could be with the angels in heaven, whom bore witness to these phenomena every second of their lives- at least, that's how Tom saw it. He opened his eyes instantly. "I'm sorry, my Lord," Tom said, sounding utterly defeated as he gazed at the stars, as if he was mentally trying to envision his Creator amongst them. "I know that 'm here fer a reason, but pray tell, for I haven't ev'n foun' out yet."
He sighed, knowing it wasn't very ideal to be questioning God in any way. "'m sorry," he apologized again, but it wasn't enough to give him back his past serenity. Tom inclined forward and rested his elbows on his knees. Seeing as he did not have any other way to divert his attention, Tom became promptly bored. He could smell the faint scent of a deer from about a mile northwest of him, but Tom didn't like drinking from animals. In fact, he quite detests it, as it did not taste right, the way humans do.
Wait, that scent . . .
Tom straightened up into a rigid posture. He stood up, even, in the blink of a human eye, although to other vampires it would have seemed at a normal rate. Mixed in with the scent of deer was something that was very familiar. It was sweet, musky, like the aroma of honey. It reminded him of Christmas, or the time he had inhaled the odor of a flower with his new-found vampiric sense of smell. It smelled like . . .
Like . . .
Vampire.
Tom's head cocked slightly to the direction of the stranger, surprised he hadn't noticed her earlier, even if she was several meters away. "Fancy a night out, eh?" Tom called out amicably, though he was tense just in case anything happened. He had encountered several cases in the past where a nomadic vampire would randomly attack out of nowhere, God knows why, so he's especially cautious around them. Especially at night, when most predators are on hunting mode.

"Fancy a night out, eh?" Sian heard somebody call out to her. She let out a smile and nodded her head. "Yeah." she merely replied to his question.
Walking over to him, Sian brushed some more of her loose strands out of her eyes, "So I see that there are more of us in Forks now." she said to him. While she had been here, she had figured Forks would be home to only a few vampires. But now it seemed like a lot of them were popping up out of nowhere.
Sitting down at least near the guy she had just met, Sian pulled her legs up to her chest some. "I'm Sian Cromwell." she introduced herself. Sure maybe she was a little too trusting, but it was a trait of her's. And besides, the guy hadn't attacked her yet, he had spoken to her first.
((sorry it's short, dead mus at the moment))

"Yeah," was the simple reply Tom got back, and he relaxed a hair. God knows how some vampires liked to chat, but all the while they had severely morbid intentions they want to spring at you when you weren't looking. One of them was Tom, but heck, if he had admitted to that, he shouldn't have been so defensive, otherwise he would have known how to properly defend himself against vampires. See, fighting against his kind was not something Tom thought he should do at all. Most of the time he kind of just ended up... running away.
Tom saw her approach, and raised a brow quizzically at her slightly disheveled appearance that was caused by the messy strands of her hair falling onto her face. Most vampires kept to their perfect nature, and composed themselves into utmost cleanliness and primness that they could manage. His eyebrow lowered and he cocked his head to the side, interested suddenly with the newcomer and forgetting his need to be on the defense. But then, he thought, maybe she's not like most vampires. "So I see that there are more of us in Forks now," the female vampire continued, and Tom chuckled briefly. "I drop by once in a while, miss. I 'ave a house on the outskirts just to avoid suspicion, but I go 'round the world when'ver I feel like it."
He massaged his temple thoughtfully, but he didn't need to at all. It was a remnant of his habit to fidget to look human, which he has to do more often than nomadic vampires. "Though I must say, miss, there's quite a stench by the La Push reservation- really, 'tis the reason why I 'ave avoided the place." Tom lowered his hand when the vampire had introduced herself. He was pleasantly surprised that she didn't seem at all wary of him, so he dropped his defenses as well and relaxed. "Well, I'm Tom, miss Sian," he smiled charmingly. "So d'you live 'ere in Forks? Minglin' with the locals, and all tha'?"

"I drop by once in a while, miss. I 'ave a house on the outskirts just to avoid suspicion, but I go 'round the world when'ver I feel like it." Sian nodded her head. "Well that makes sense." she said with a slight smile. "Traveling around the world whenever you feel like." she repeated his words quietly. "Must be kind of nice." Of course she got travel around the world, but she always traveled with her father, so she was always being watched over.
"Though I must say, miss, there's quite a stench by the La Push reservation- really, 'tis the reason why I 'ave avoided the place." Sian gave a small laugh at his comment of the stench of La Push. She merely shrugged her shoulders. "I try to ignore it." she said to him. "Sometimes I can, and sometimes I feel like running away cause of how bad it can get." she added.
"So d'you live 'ere in Forks? Minglin' with the locals, and all tha'?" Sian laughed at his question some and nodded. "Yes actually I do live here in Forks Tom." she said to him. "Me and my father live here. We have a tiny little house and we try to act like regular humans who go to work and school." she explained to him.

Tom was surprised with Sian’s reply. “I didn’ mean tha’ seriously,” he started, but his eyes were full of wonder. “School?” Tom repeated incredulously, not knowing whether he wanted to laugh or rethink his lifestyle. Inevitably, a snort of laughter slipped out, but Tom managed to hold the rest of it in afterward. “How is the educational system nowadays, Sian?” Tom asked teasingly. “Are they teachin’ ye somethin’ you don’ already know?” And at that, he laughed at his own cleverness, already assuming that all vampires were extensively smarter than the professors and teachers that teach the generations of humans, since they already have been around for more than was humanely possible- at least, in Tom’s case- and already have underwent high school.
But while that small chortle escaped him, he thought about the other things Sian said, prior to the ‘mingling’ answer, which had been the answer that had taken him aback so much that he temporarily forgot about everything else. “Yea, I ‘gree; ‘tis nice to travel,” said Tom. “Tho’ there ‘re some cases when I go twice to the same place ‘n five years, an’ some o’ the locals recognize me. Tha’s ‘bout the time I suddenly disappear.” As he said disappear, Tom made quotation marks with his fingers, since he was referring to the fact that he would run away. Then he grimaced when he said, “I know! La Push smells tha’ bad. Wha’ d’you think causes tha' stench, anyway?” He shuddered visibly for the heck of it, more accustomed to showing his emotion physically from the amount of human interaction he takes part in.

Sian couldn't help but to at least chuckle on Tom's question of the education system. "I mostly fake sleep all day when I am there." she admitted to him. "I go off into a world of my own. And yet I somehow pass every test and quiz they hand me, it's as if I have been around here for quite a while." she said with a sly smile.
Watching Tom make air quotes when he said that he would just randomly disappear, Sian smiled some. "Is that all you do? Just travel?" she asked him. "Nobody comes up to you and asks you like a million questions about your life? Like where did you come from, or what your parents do for a living?"
Twirling some of her red ends, Sian laughed at his next question; Why Lapush smelled so horrible. "Werewolves." she said with a matter of fact tone. "Or so they say. I haven't seen one, but I think it's werewolves."

Tom grinned devilishly as he thought of how it would be like if he went to high school, too. “Don’ you wanna show off, even a bit?” he said jokingly. “Like knowin’ everythin’ ‘bout the 19th century…” Tom trailed off as a thoughtful expression overtook his features. “Or, y’know, whenever you’re from, Sian.” The young immortal was personally from that time period, so he had automatically used it as an example. He completely ruled out that the other vampire was younger- or older- than him. A mistake on his part, but heck. It was rare to meet a vampire this way, and Tom was just learning the ropes.
His eyes grew reminiscent as Sian continued to ask him questions about traveling. “Nah, no’ really. I ‘ave sev’ral houses o’ me own whenever I go places, bu’ I ‘ave a front like, baby-sittin’ a house for me aunt, somethin’ like tha’.” Then he laughed as he continued, “Tho’ there are some times when some people ge’ too nosy. Then I would just leave as easily as I came.” Upon hearing about the werewolves, Tom's nose scrunched up in disgust. "Oh. Them. I came across some of 'em once in Asia," he scowled. "Not exactly a welcomin' bunch, are they?"

Sian rolled her eyes at his question about showing off. She had always never really liked being in the spotlight, and that is what she was getting now. Since she always moving, she was always the new kid. And a lot of people noticed the new kid. "I'm not a big fan of showing off, or being in the spotlight." she told him. "Although I don't know much of the 19th century, I do know a fair amount of knowledge of the 1920s." she said to him with a smile.
Sian nodded her head. "Well they sound like a lot of fun." she said to him with sarcasm. "So how did they react you?" she asked him. Though she had never met one, Sian liked to know how certain things reacted, mainly things that could possibly attempt to kill her.
