Three days in Forks, and Ryder was wishing she was somewhere else. Coming here to watch had seemed like a good idea at first. But like with most things, one doesn't know what it's like until they've experienced it. Here everything was seemingly normal. Sure tons of other species paraded around, but unlike in Romania or Volterra, nothing pointed to anxiety or worry. Then again, she had yet to meet another vampire. Alis was young, only eight years old. But she had been on her own for most of it. She knew how to take care of herself, and she knew the best thing to do know was probably to go on her way. Making neither side mad seemed like a good plan. Once more, it all was in theory. Ryder was curious by nature, she wanted to see why word spread about the Olympic Coven and their odd ways. Too bad for her this place was about as dull as a pile of rocks.
For the past few days, she had mainly stuck to the forest, only venturing out into the town a few times. It was a comfort thing, the forest was something she knew. Today she was skipping through the forest lightly. Her feet made no sound as they fell onto the forest floor. Alis's constant companion was her thoughts, and her best friend was her voice. Ryder rarely spoke, she was polite to people if they asked a question, but she would rarely go beyond a sentence or two unless the conversation was worth it. She wasn't shy, but her voice being as special as it was to her she liked to use it during games. The most important thing was, she talked most when alone.
Alis held actual conversations and debates with herself when alone. Some could argue it was how she stayed sane for the past six years. Now was one of those times, she found it easier to swap through voices when she did so. It kept things divided..."You say being here is beneficial to our future." She asked, using the voice of a woman she had heard in town the other day. "Of course, it took a long time to see that coming here was our best option. And think of how much there is to see in this place." Switching to the voice of a man she had hunted a week ago. "We have been here for days, seen all we can for someone in our position. Maybe we have learned enough." "And go where? Back to Romania? Volterra? South America? Or maybe we could visit Egypt, we haven't been there in years." "Oh don't we always have to bring in sarcasm when our point is being lost." The argument could have gone on for a while longer had a blur of movement not caught her eye. Instantly snapping her mouth shut, she focused all her senses on her surroundings. Something was here, she just didn't know what.
